"I want to address the video that’s been going around. I was driving a fully loaded semi, about 77,000 pounds, approaching an intersection when a school bus pulled out against a red light. The bus passed another driver that was already stopped and ended up blocking multiple lanes. At that point, my focus was reacting safely. With a vehicle that size, stopping distance is much longer than a regular car, but I immediately applied my brakes and was able to avoid a collision. I understand on video it might look like I was going fast, but camera angles can distort speed and distance. My priority in that moment was maintaining control and preventing an accident.
