"Underwater artist Olga Belka is painting a seahorse among the corals to symbolize the Year of the Horse. The artwork incorporates the traditional Chinese inscription 年年有鱼 (a wish for seasonal abundance through a play on words that also implies a wish for plenty of fish). Olga Belka is a professional underwater artist recognized by international media as the world’s only underwater portraitist. Creating her works entirely on the seabed, Belka pioneered a lab-tested, eco-safe technique for painting in salt water to capture authentic marine light and color.
