"A giant water monitor lizard was rescued from floodwaters at a market in Thailand. The five-foot reptile was struggling in the high tide before locals placed it in a foam box in Samut Prakan, near Bangkok, on Monday. The man said: 'I have been seeing the monitor lizard here for a long time. It is probably old and may have eaten too much so it was unable to move. It would have died if the water level continued rising, so I decided to rescue it.'"
