"A baby deer was heard crying along the edge of a lake as my wife, daughter, and I were boating around. We stopped to take some pictures, but something seemed wrong. The baby couldn't get up the embankment and must've been there for a while because there were maggots all crawling around on his rear end. I cleaned the maggots all off and carried the deer back onto dry land and watched as it ran a few yards away. It then could be heard calling for his momma again."
